Restaurant News at the Historic Seaport
Today we are giving you the inside scoop on dining at the Seaport. Let’s take a quick look at the changes happening at the nearby waterfront restaurant, bars, and eateries.
The White Tarpon Bar & Restaurant
Great news for fans of The White Tarpon Bar & Restaurant, they’ve moved to a new location with a great view of the historic A & B Marina. Don’t worry; they didn’t move that far away. They now reside where The Boat House was, and The Boat House (soon to reopen) has relocated to the Turtle Kraals location. The sad news here is one of our longtime favorite restaurants at the Key West Bight, Turtle Kraals, has closed.
Here’s a photo of White Tarpon at their new home! Photo courtesy of White Tarpon sister restaurant, A&B Lobster House, taken from their side of the marina. It gives you a beautiful view of the marina at night and what you can expect to see while dining here.
What we love
White Tarpon is serving up the best martinis on the island, AND you can’t beat the views! They’ve also got one of the best Happy Hours on the island.
Happy Hour is 4 pm - 6:30 pm.
Half off all small plates, beer, well drinks, and house wines
They are also a TripAdvisor 2020 Travelers Choice Award Winner!

What people are saying about the White Tarpon experience …
“It was by far the best meal we had on the island. We had the seared grouper, which melted in your mouth but the Star was the Zucchini, olive artichoke orzo pasta WOW!!! I could’ve eaten an entire bowl of just that. YUM!! My son had the whiskey bbq glazed ribs which were also perfectly cooked. They have great cocktails too. Would definitely go back for their happy hour to sample all of their small plates. ~ Leah McClure, Google Review

The Keys Weekly had an exclusive interview with celebrity and co-owner, Mark Wahlberg, about opening a restaurant in paradise.
“What should Key West and the Keys know about Wahlburgers and what makes it unique or different from other casual dining locales and bars (and possibly other Wahlburgers locations)?
Having the opportunity to open a Wahlburgers at the boardwalk of the world-renowned Historic Key West Seaport is pretty special. We love the relaxed yet vibrant culture of Key West and the opportunity it gave us to play with dishes that have a local flare. We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone through the doors and becoming a part of this community.” Read the entire interview here.

A New Shopping Experience at Kirby’s Closet
A truly unique shopping experience recently opened in paradise! Welcome to Kirby’s Closet, an upscale resale boutique located on Whitehead Street in Old Town.
Kudos to Kirby Myers for opening the store during COVID, and oh how happy we are that she did. Visitors are greeted with a smile and a treasured showroom of style along with a thoughtfully curated display of pre-loved women’s clothing, jewelry, accessories, and home decor items.
This boutique is colorful, vibrant, bold, and beautiful, just like Kirby. It’s a happy place, and the one comment we see time and time again is, “I’ve never had so much fun shopping.”
Kirby knows how to style, so if you’re visiting and need something extra special or just in the mood for something new, she’ll help you out. “Best shopping experience ever! Surprise my brother-in-law is getting Married NEXT WEEK! Kirby went above and beyond picking out about 8 dresses for me to try on and I ended up with a gorgeous beaded dress, a necklace, and earrings. She took my number and said she’ll find me some shoes! 100% will be back.” ~ Sailing TipSea, Google Review

Where to shop in Key West - One of the most frequently asked questions we get is where can I find gifts made by local artists. There’s one place to go, and it’s the newest shopping destination dedicated to local artists and creatives - the place to find handcrafted one-of-a-kind items from our friends right here in Key West. The Shops at Mallory Square, located at 291 Front Street, features specialty stores, art galleries, exhibits, and more. Here are a few of our favorites; Bella Laine, Ocean Blue Studio, Washed Up Key West, and Key West Soaps.
