There's a certain kind of day in Key West that starts on the water… and somehow turns into one of the best days of your trip.
Maybe it's snorkeling North America's only living coral reef. Maybe it's finding yourself at a sandbar you didn't even know existed, or watching a pod of dolphins in the wild. Maybe it's a full day where you can do just about everything. Maybe it ends with a drink in your hand as the sun drops into the ocean.
If you're staying at The Marker, it all starts right here at the Historic Seaport — boats heading out, music in the air, people coming back sun-soaked and smiling.
So where do you start? Right here with us as we introduce you to Key West's #1 watersports company, Fury Water Adventures. For nearly three decades, Fury has offered everything from world-class snorkeling and high-speed thrills to quiet backcountry escapes and even land-based adventures. There's a perfect speed for everyone.
If you want a play day at sea, this is the one for you.

Reef snorkeling on North America's only living coral reef, parasailing, jet skis, a banana boat ride, and the largest state-certified ocean waterpark in Key West — over 3,500 square feet of connected inflatables — all in one day on a 65-foot catamaran. The Full-Day Adventure includes a lunch spread, unlimited drinks, and reef snorkeling, while the Half-Day Adventure is designed for those who want the high-action activities but have less time and want to skip the snorkeling. It's the ultimate all-inclusive play day for groups and families looking to experience the best of the water in one trip.
Time on the water: 6 to 6.5 hours (full day) or 3.5 hours (half day)
The Original Sunset Sail

Key West's original live music sunset cruise. Live band, appetizers, margaritas, beer, wine, and champagne on a 65-foot catamaran as the sun sets over the water. The playlist is pure yacht rock — Jimmy Buffett, Brown Eyed Girl, the songs that feel exactly right out there.

Fun Fact: This nightly tradition has roots deeper than most people realize. Did you know that Commotion on the Ocean actually evolved from the early days of the Key West Songwriters Festival? "We did shows out on the boats, and those original shows we did on the Fury catamaran turned into the 'Commotion on the Ocean,' which is still a trip they do every night of the week now." You can read the full story from the creative force behind the island's biggest festivals, Nadene Grossman Orr, right here on our blog.

For the ones who want to slow down

This one goes into the Key West backcountry past the main channel and into calm, shallow waters surrounded by mangrove islands. You snorkel a quieter patch of water away from the reef crowds, then anchor at a sandbar you'd never find on your own. Kayaks and paddleboards are on board for drifting through mangrove channels. The catamaran is your floating home base with lunch, beer, wine, and soft drinks. Time to stand shin-deep in the water and watch for dolphins or sea turtles cruise by. No rush. Just a salty, sun-tired ride home. This quiet, backcountry escape is perfect for couples and travelers looking for a secluded side of Key West that most visitors never see.

Time on the water: 3.5 hours
For the nature seekers

Watch bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat, then snorkel the Key West Wildlife Refuge — sea turtles, tropical fish, open water. Fury keeps their distance and lets the dolphins come to them. No chasing, no disrupting. Every trip is different because you never know when and what you're going to see, and that's part of it.
Time on the water: 3 hours
For all ages

See the reef without getting wet. Through large glass viewing windows in an air-conditioned cabin, tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, and coral pass beneath your feet — no swimsuit required. The Glass Bottom Boat has been taking visitors to Key West's reefs for over 70 years, making it the second-oldest attraction on the island.

This is a favorite for those who want to experience the reef’s beauty while staying completely dry—making it a great choice for all ages and generations.
Time on the water: About 2 hours
For the snorkel enthusiast

One reef stop not enough? The Double Dip takes you to two different locations on North America's only living coral reef aboard a faster power catamaran — less time getting there, more time underwater. It’s a great choice for repeat visitors and intermediate snorkelers who want to maximize their time exploring the reef.
Time on the water: 3 hours
For the thrill seekers

Full speed through the Key West backcountry — past remote islands, open water, and wildlife you won't see from the shore. Fury's guided jet ski tour covers approximately 28 miles in 90 minutes on brand new Sea-Doo jet skis. Departures run from 8:30am to 5:30pm daily. This is the go-to adventure for adrenaline seekers and groups who want to see the island at full speed.
Time on the water: 90 minutes
For a bird's-eye view

Fly solo, tandem, or triple above the water from a 65-foot catamaran. Panoramic views of Key West from above. Dry takeoffs and landings available. It’s an iconic way to get a bird’s-eye view of paradise.
Time on the water: About 1 hour

Not a water adventure, but worth knowing. Fury has golf carts on-site at The Marker. Book through the concierge, and they'll get you set up fast.
With the only Dolphin SMART designation in the Keys, Fury ensures responsible dolphin observation that puts the wildlife first. They are also proud to be Blue Star certified by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, a program that recognizes tour operators committed to reef protection and education. As part of their mission to give back, they provide reef-safe sunscreen on every boat and donate a portion of each ticket to local reef conservation, ensuring our coral ecosystem stays vibrant for generations to come. Learn more about Fury’s environmental commitment here.
So many adventures to choose from, so little time. Whether you have a full week or just a weekend, the hardest part is picking which trip to book first.
Ready to hit the water? Stop by the concierge desk when you check in, and the team will help you find the best adventure for your time in Key West. You can also browse the full list of adventures, check scheduling, pricing, and tips at Fury Water Adventures.
Pro-Tip: Most Fury adventures depart from the Key West Historic Seaport. We recommend arriving 30–45 minutes early to check in at the kiosk and get settled. Some high-action trips, like jet skis and parasailing, have specific age and weight requirements, so check with the concierge when planning. Don't forget your towels and a photo ID!
