April 17 - 26 Declaring our “Fun” dependence
This is a ten-day celebration of Key West's brief secession from the United States. Some of our favorite events include; bed races on the world-famous Duval Street, conch shell blowing contest, a parade, a concert under the stars featuring chart-topping, New Orleans based, eight-piece band, The Revivalists and the infamous bloody battle in Key West harbor where Conch Republic vessels toss stale Cuban bread at Coast Guard vessels and each other in a mock secession. There will be drinking, dancing and lots of celebrations and the above are only a few of the events. The kick-off party is Friday, April 17th, at 7 pm, at the Schooner Wharf Bar, located steps from our resort. New events have been added to this year's celebration, so check out the schedule of events prior to your arrival.
